Project example

Final mile logistics for 3PL / 4PL businesses

The challenge
An international market leader in store management wishes to expand its service portfolio to meet organisational and customer requirements. This will necessitate the development of additional market segments and the implementation of country-specific requirements for last-mile delivery. In addition to improving response times and the ability to meet deadlines, the goal is to minimise the number of service providers involved and reduce delivery times.

The strategy
GOCELO works in close collaboration with the client to produce detailed alternative solutions supported by models of best practice. This team consists of both planners and operational experts and evaluates each different scenario according to the predetermined objectives.

The implementation
Adopting an SPOC concept, preliminary test orders are carried out and subsequently analysed via a full 360-degree evaluation, so that any vulnerabilities can be identified and eliminated in the next phase of the project. GOCELO then assumes responsibility for last-mile delivery, which includes the coordination of unloading points, online reporting and escalation management protocols. All GOCELO sites receive training in the various client-specific procedures.
